Rob came to MTC Australia after his full-time warehouse assistant position was made redundant in 2019. As a devoted father of three daughters, finding reliable, full-time employment was a priority for Rob. Unfortunately, shortly after was made redundant, the pandemic changed the employment landscape and he found it very difficult to secure full-time work.
While Rob had some success with securing work within the construction industry, he was only able to find temporary and casual positions, which weren’t sustainable long-term and didn’t give him the security he needed to provide for his family.
When Rob joined MTC Australia, he was paired with an Employment Coach, Jonathan. Jonathan could see that Rob had the attitude and determination that would make him a great employee, he just needed help showing that to potential employers. Together they worked on Rob’s resume writing and interview skills so he could improve how he presented himself when he applied to jobs.
Rob was then referred to MTC Recruitment so we could assist him in finding the full-time employment opportunity that he was looking for, including providing financial support to assist with renewing his forklift license.
With the combination of Rob’s excellent work ethic, improved skills, and the current shortage of forklift drivers, we soon found Rob a position as a full-time production worker. Since beginning his new job, Rob’s life has improved dramatically; glowing feedback from his employers has shown that he has settled into and is now thriving in his position, and Rob has made sure to mention that he is now able to buy his beautiful daughters all the food they crave, with milk tea and Gong Cha being their favourite on-the-go beverage.
We’re very happy for Rob, and we wish him the best of luck in his new role!
