Our client is a designer and manufacturer of industry-leading food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical tubes and is looking for an experienced Offset Printer Operators to join their team in the Smithfield area


This position will initially be offered on a temporary basis which could lead to a permanent role.


You will be required to work on a NIGHT SHIFT working Monday to Friday from 11pm to 7am

Payrate: $ 42.90p.h for night shift

Responsibilities/Authorities:


Planning

  • Liaise with the supervisors and other operators regarding ink & plate preparation.
  • Inform the foreman if production documents are required.
  • Liaise with shift foreman, regarding daily production plan & staffing requirements.
  • Report any quality or technical issues to shift foreman.
  • Prepare production reports and documents.

Organising

  • Ensure that samples of each print run are retained for storage by the Quality Control Department.
  • Ensure that work areas are clean and that the cleaning schedule has been completed daily.
  • Highlight management of any issues that will affect your performance.
  • Liaise with the packing crew regarding quality standards.
  • Ensure that any required maintenance is communicated to the Shift Foreman.

General Duties

  • Ensure that the work environment is HACCP complaint.
  • Complete required daily production reports.
  • Work in a safe manner and make OH&S recommendations,
  • Supervise & direct members of the packing crew as required.
  • Carry out any other duties as required that may arise from time to time in accordance with the needs of the business.

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment (plastic manufacturing ideal).
  • Packaging and printing experience required.
  • Familiar with FMCG environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude skills.
  • Strong experience in setting up printing machines.
  • Able to meet deadlines.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Be committed to a long term opportunity.
  • Work well as part of a team.
  • Able to follow instructions.
  • Willing to learn and have a can do attitude.
  • Have full working rights in Australia with no restrictions on hours you can work per week.
  • Can start immediately.

Please note you will be required to do some training on the day and the hours will be 7am to 3pm before you move to the night shift.
