Extruder Operator / Machine Operator

Our client is a designer and manufacturer of industry-leading food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical tubes and is looking for an Experienced Plastic Extruder / Machine Operator to join their team for an immediate start in Smithfield.

This position will initially be offered on a temporary basis which could lead to a permanent role.

This role will be starting on the day shift for training for a minimum of 3-6months before moving on the afternoon shift.

The hours of work for day shift will be Monday to Friday from 7am to 3pm. The hours of afternoon shift will be Monday to Friday from 3pm to 11pm.

Day shift payrate: $31.23p.h.

Afternoon shift payrate: $ 35.92p.h.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Operating a plastic extruder machine.
• Putting raw materials into machines.
• Performing quality testing and ensuring that all products manufactured meet the required standards.
• Perform daily production plans.
• Labelling products.
• Change machine parts for job changeover.
• Other manufacturing duties as required.

To be considered for this position, you will have:

• Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment (plastic manufacturing ideal)
• Packaging and printing experience would be an advantage.
• Familiar with FMCG environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude skills.
• Strong experience in setting up machines.
• Be physically fit and can lift up to 25kilos comfortably.
• Able to meet deadlines.
• Great communication skills.
• Be committed to a long term opportunity.
• Work well as part of a team.
• Able to follow instructions.
• Willing to learn and have a can do attitude.
• Can stand on your feet for the full shift.
• Have full working rights in Australia with no restrictions on hours you can work per week.
• Can start immediately.
