Plastic Extruder Operator

Our client is a designer and manufacturer of industry-leading food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical tubes and is looking for an Experienced Plastic Extruder / Machine Operator to join their team in the Smithfield area

This position will initially be offered on a temporary basis which could lead to a permanent role.

You will be required to work on a AFTERNOON SHIFT working Monday to Friday from 3pm to 11pm

Payrate: $ 35.92p.h

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Operating a plastic extruder machine
• Putting raw materials into machines
• Performing quality testing and ensuring that all products manufactured meet the required standards
• Perform daily production plans
• Labelling products
• Change machine parts for job changeover
• Other manufacturing duties as required

To be considered for this position, you will have:

• Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment (plastic manufacturing ideal)
• Packaging and printing experience would be an advantage
• Familiar with FMCG environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude skills
• Strong experience in setting up machines
• Able to meet deadlines
• Great communication skills
• Be committed to a long term opportunity
• Work well as part of a team
• Able to follow instructions
• Willing to learn and have a can do attitude
• Can stand on your feet for the full shift
• Have full working rights in Australia with no restrictions on hours you can work per week
• Can start immediately
