WHSE Coordinator
Position Scope and Objective:
The WHSE Coordinator will provide strategic advice and leadership in managing the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) portfolio, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and promoting a culture of safety. This role focuses on risk management, training, and fostering a safe and sustainable workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and improve HSE frameworks in alignment with regulations and industry standards.
- Maintain the site Risk Profile, conduct risk assessments, and deliver role-based training programs.
- Manage all environmental aspects, including stormwater and waste management, and liaise with regulatory bodies like EPA and Sydney Water.
- Oversee chemical management, including storage, risk assessments, and staff training.
- Manage external contractor compliance, including database documentation and work permit approvals.
- Improve occupational health and hygiene practices, including noise, dust, PPE, and manual handling protocols.
- Supervise injury management, maintain injury registers, and assist with workers’ compensation claims.
- Lead the Emergency Response Team, coordinating training, drills, and reviewing procedures.
- Provide continuous WHSE training, conduct audits, and deliver reports to the Board and Executive Team.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent (mandatory).
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable).
- Manufacturing experience highly desired
- Strong return to work exposure
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar WHSE role.
- Solid knowledge of WHS legislation, chemical management, and risk assessment.
- Strong time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain WHSE frameworks independently.
